On Wednesday June the 10th, True Direct Home Health Care will attend the ‘Safeguarding Our Seniors’ a forum for seniors and their caregivers, sponsored by The Alzheimer’s Association. This conference is also to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day launched on June 15th, 2006 by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations.
The conference is to be held at the Philadelphia Free Library at 18th and Vine Street in center city Philadelphia and will feature expert guest speakers from companies such as CARIE (Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly), Beneficial Bank, City of Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and the City of Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment & Opportunity.
Some of the topics for discussion in helping our seniors is how to keep money and assets safe, make good financial decisions as you age and how to identify valuable resources.

Doc, as he is called by everyone - staff, patients and clients - first experienced home health care and hospice care while as a colleg student at King's College as he cared for his mother every day while she first battled COPD and then lung cancer. It was during this time that he came to understand that caring for a patient was more than just clinical expertise.
"Admittedly, my strongest attribute is my communication skills and the simple fact that I love to help people. Even the smallest thing you can do for someone really can mean so much to them long term. In fact, it could change them forever. That's what providing quality personal home health care should be all about."
In his spare time, he cooks for homeless shelters and children's music and arts events. He also is highly involved in his local youth sports soccer academy as a coach and Board member.
