These Soup Recipes Are Ideal for Elderly Adults

1 can great northern beans, drained
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 lb ground turkey sausage, cooked and drained of fat
1/2 C tomato sauce
1 (15-oz) can diced tomatoes with liquid
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
Pour all ingredients into a slow cooker. Stir to combine, then season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook for 6 hours on the low setting. Serve immediately
Zucchini Beef Stew

2 lbs ground beef, browned and drained
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 can diced tomatoes, with juice
2 zucchini, diced
1 C chopped mushrooms
1 ½ C beef broth, low sodium
Salt and pepper to taste
In the slow cooker, combine beef, onion, tomato, zucchini and mushrooms. Salt and pepper the mixture, then add in beef broth. Cook on the low setting for 6 to 8 hours. Serve immediately.
Teeny Weenie Soup
2 cans diced tomatoes with juice
2 packages cocktail sausages, approximately 24
2 C diced celery
1 C frozen corn
1 C sliced mushrooms
1 C chopped cabbage
1 can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14-oz) can chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Slice the cocktail sausages into fourths. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Cook for 6 to 8 hours on the low setting. Serve immediately.
